Every Wednesday we review a selection of new and upcoming books addressing a specific aspect of environmentalism. Today, to go with the theme of this week's daily tips , we're recommending books about going green at work. Eco Barons: The Dreamers, Schemers, and Millionaires Who Are Saving Our Planet (by Edward Humes, $26, Ecco/HarperCollins, Mar. 2009): The author, a Pulitzer-winning nonfiction writer, profiles business magnates, inventors, and activists who have dedicated their life and work to preserving the earth. Anyone looking for planet-saving inspiration in the form of role models will benefit from reading this book. Saving the World at Work: What Companies and Individuals Can Do to Go Beyond Making a Profit to Making a Difference  (by Tim Sanders, $24, Doubleday, Sept. 2008): Though it's not environment-specific, the author does address environmental issues by presenting his encompassing concept of the "Responsibility Revolution." He argues that even small actions, whether of compassion or of leading by example, are vitally important for not only a business's success but also for bettering the world. Green Yor Work: Boost Your Bottom Line While Reducing Your Carbon Footprint  (by Kim

Carlson, $15, Adams Business, Dec. 2008): Going green can also save green, and the author, a sustainable-business consultant, shows you how to do so, step by step. Whether you want to go paperless or better manage your water, you'll find techniques for doing so in this book. Greening Your Office: From Cupboard to Corporation, An A-Z Guide (by Jon Clift, $8, Chelsea Green, Apr. 2008): This minuscule alphabetical reference for going green at work is packed with practical tips about everything from organic coffee to using credit cards linked to an environmental charity. Also check out Biking to Work , another book in the same series. Sustainability 101: A Toolkit for Your Business (by Anca Novacovici and Jennifer Woofter, $40, self-published, Nov. 2008): Written by two eco-business consultants, this highly formatted book lists various actions business owners can take, explains why and how to take them, discusses their costs and benefits, and lists resources by which to accomplish them. –Avital Binshtock
