Do you have fresh sod in your yard? If so, use it to start a new green habit: composting! While the sod is still in its settling-in phase, place small food and paper scraps underneath different sections of grass. All of the water and the groundworms that are present under the sod will help that organic

matter break down. An added benefit? That compost will add nutrients to the soil, helping your new grasss to grow. Once your sod has settled and stuck down its roots, invest in a composter, since you’re already in the habit! Thanks to Alex Grasic for suggesting this tip!
