If you’re traveling to Florida, there are an increasing number of green accommodation options. The Westin Key West Resort & Marina recently become a designated Green Lodging by Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Green Lodging Program . Says General Manager Diane Schmidt: “The Westin Key West Resort & Marina is committed to taking steps to protect our environment for the enjoyment of our guests, our community and future generations. We are proud to be part of the Green Lodging program and look forward to working with them to further improve our practices.” The resort has achieved the One-Palm certification.  Its environmental initiatives include: reducing solid waste by placing recycling receptacles in public areas. reducing water and energy consumption through centralized, off-site laundry processing. providing an area on
